Certus today announced it has hired Desiree Straubinger as Vice President of Technical.

Desiree began her career with Steritech in 2002 after graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Entomology. Seeking learning opportunities and professional development, she embraced several roles within Steritech, starting as a service supervisor and even working within their Brand Standards division. Her true passion within the pest industry was revealed when she joined the Steritech Technical Team. After the acquisition by Rentokil in 2015, Desiree became the Market Technical Director for the Southeast and Canadian Markets, where she led a team of technical managers to drive quality through training and knowledge.

A technical leader in the pest industry, Desiree serves in key positions on numerous boards and committees, including the PMP Magazine Editorial Advisory Board, Pi Chi Omega Board of Directors, Pi Chi Omega Scholarship Chair, FPMA Education Committee and NPMA Commercial Committee member. She is a dedicated professional, driven by serving and supporting others while inspiring quality, effectiveness, and efficiency. Desiree is a Board Certified Entomologist (BCE) as well as a Certified Professional - Food Safety (CP-FS).

Mike Givlin, CEO and co-founder of Certus, commented, “We continue to build the Certus team with top industry professionals. Desiree’s commitment to technical excellence throughout the industry is both admirable and invaluable. Having such a strong leader at the helm of our technical programs will bring Certus’ quality and service excellence focus to the next level.”

Desiree Straubinger said, “I’m inspired by what the Certus team has already achieved and am thrilled to be part of this success by building quality programs side-by-side with Operations.”
